Two design engineers for Point of Sale firm J&CR Wood are undergoing training in the latest software packages to further improve client service.
Barrie Singlewood and Peter Woolfitt are currently having Solid Works training to allow them to master the latest manufacturing software to use alongside the firm’s CNC machines.
The software has a huge range of facilities to convert visuals to working drawings for general fabrication and provides great analysis of the performance of a design before going to full manufacture.
The software is set to speed up the Hull-based firm’s response to the large number of enquiries they receive on a weekly basis to design point of sale displays for local, regional, national and international firms.
The company has recently designed for Hull-based AAK, Formica, Dulux, Flymo, and Samsung, to name a few.
Director Ian Wood said: “Once we are fully up to speed with the software we will be able to respond quicker to the increasing numbers of design and manufacture enquiries we are attracting.”
Design and Account Manager Ben Sullivan is also due to receive training in January.
Mr Wood added: “Our culture of continually trying to improve our service to our clients will see us review the situation in the summer of 2015 when we hope to introduce further equipment and training that will connect with the Solid Works Software.”
